  • AI Tools for Instructors (Pitfalls of AI ) - Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Eastern}
  • Deathcare Avenues in Allied Professions with FS/MOR degree - Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM (Eastern)
  • Deathbots/AI in funerals - Tuesday, December 8, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Eastern)

Self Study Workshop

ABFSE will not hold an in-person Self Study Workshop in Charlotte for 2026.  However, since many need to be familiar with the Self Study Workshop content, two virtual sessions are being offered.

Who needs to attend the Self Study Workshop?

  • programs preparing for comprehensive review and a site visit in the next 18 months, (see Policy Manual page 27 and Appendix C, page 96)
  • new program directors, (see Policy Manual page 27)
  • individuals desiring to serve as site visitors (SS Workshop is part of site visitor training)  interested faculty and staff are also welcome.

Workshop length:  3+ hours. (Schedule time accordingly.)
 
Session 1:  Wednesday, September 30 @ 1 PM Eastern
Session 2: Tuesday, October 13 @ 1 PM Eastern
